I see you are a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Do you also work with individuals?
I work with adults both individually and as couples. I have a Master’s of Science in Counseling, MSC, and am focused on the family system and the impact these relationships have on our life as everyone has a family history that impacts who we’ve become. While I have specialized training in this field, I am not limited to working only with families and couples.
50% or more of my clients are individuals. I love working with clients one on one as we can really go as deep as you want and its such a safe space to share what’s really going on in your heart and thoughts.
What if I’m in a relationship but my partner isn’t interested in coming with me?
Healing within a relationship is possible when only one person commits to therapy. However, the impact on the relationship depends on many factors. When one person is hurting, the whole family is hurting. The work I do is focused on helping you achieve your goal. If you want a healthier happier relationship that will be the focus of our work. For specific examples, feel free to take a look at some past client testimonials.
Do you take my insurance?
While I am out-of-network with insurance companies, you can use your Health Savings Account, or Flexible Spending Account. To find out specifics, I recommend calling your insurance carrier and speaking with them about your out-of-network benefits for mental health. Upon request I can provide you with a monthly receipt for you to submit to them for reimbursement.
I certainly understand this question. When you work so hard and have great benefits you want to use them, right? What most people don’t know is your insurance company requires a therapist to give you a mental health disorder diagnosis. The clients I work with are not mentally ill. My clients are people who want professional help with issues and relationships. Some times the client is dealing with anxiety or depression, but most of the time these symptoms are due to life’s circumstance, not because there is a mental illness. I hope this helps you have a clearer understanding on why I have chosen to be a private pay professional. I take your privacy seriously.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to avoid incurring charges for missed appointments. You must call the office at 502-396-0087 to cancel.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Where are you located?
You can view my location here.
How much do you charge?
I charge $145 per 50 minute session. My fee is the same for individuals and for couples. Because 50 minutes can fly by, some clients choose to book back to back sessions. This allows us to deepen our work, uninterrupted. You can schedule online and see my session prices here.
How many sessions will I need?
Research suggests that between 8 and 26 sessions are typically of maximum benefit. However, because each situation is different, it is difficult to predict how many sessions may be needed to help you reach your goals.
How often will I meet with my therapist?
In most cases, weekly sessions are recommended.
Do you prescribe medications?
I do not prescribe medications as they can only be prescribed by an MD. However, I can refer you to a psychiatrist who may be able to help you.
How do I refer someone to you?
Simply tell them I’m here to help, give them my phone number, and refer them to our website.
